My Story

My wife and I ran a retreat centre in Spain for 5 years  working with people, often suffering from stress who were seeking support to make positive changes in their lives.

Now working from my private studio in Wells, Somerset I am still committed to helping people develop the attributes they need for the activities they care about  - to create body awareness to improve overall health and wellbeing.

I have now been awarded the Physical Activity on Referral accreditation by Proactive and now receive GP referrals working from my studio in Wells for a variety of health conditions including diabetes, osteoporosis, CHD, hypertension, obesity, arthritis, depression and anxiety.

I spent 27 years in a high pressure office bound job that left me stressed, sleep deprived and depressed. The impacts of my working life were showing up in my physical condition: stiff and aching joints, poor posture, low energy, regular headaches.

I always had the discipine to push myself hard but found no meaning nor enjoyment in my exercise regime.

Following medical advice that a health breakdown was imminent I decided to prioritise my wellbeing.

I became a Personal Trainer because I realised the way I had been pushing myself in the gym was actually compounding my stress. I adopted a more holistic approach:

I was keen to escape the traditional gym setting of noisy machines and loud music in favour of more peaceful settings to facilitate a more flowing, exploratory approach to movement - always with a sense of fun.
